Anita Martin
Accounting
Anita Martin joined the Team in August 2015 as Executive Assistant and moved to the Accounting Department November 2015. Her responsibilities include managing accounts receivables, payables, bank deposits, reconciliations, 7-day eviction notices, owner’s draws, lease documents, managing tenant ledgers, activating tenant and owner portals, developing and preparing all related monthly finance reports, as well as training employees on the property management software system. A native Detroiter, Anita graduated from Detroit Public Schools.
A veteran property manager with more than 25 years of experience ensuring profitability and analyzing annual needs, Anita managed a team of four engaged in property management operations for residential communities. The portfolio included Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8, Family and Senior Housing. She is a mentor and has trained managers in budgets and forecasting and how to optimize opportunities for new marketing prospects. She is an accomplished leader in training and recruiting new personnel with company policies and practices. As an Auditor for the State of Michigan, she performed home inspections to compare the property card records of the tax assessor’s offices throughout the state, and reported changes and updates of the homes when necessary.
Anita also had experience as a construction manager for 30 single family homes under rehab in Dearborn, Michigan. She prepared cost analysis for all repairs needed to meet City of Dearborn inspection requirements and codes.
Once a licensed realtor with KDR & Associates, Broker Kenneth D. Roberts, Anita clearly has extensive experience in many facets of the real estate management industry. She brings all of this to the Accounting Department and is instrumental to the satisfaction of our clients and team.
Outside of Team LBR, Anita is a professional dancer and instructor and enjoys performing regularly in the Detroit area.
